Terms of Service
Last updated: May 16, 2026
Agreement
These Terms govern your use of Changelog Generator. By creating an account, connecting GitHub, using the product, or paying for a subscription, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
The Service
Changelog Generator reads selected GitHub pull request metadata, generates draft changelog text with AI, and lets you edit, schedule, publish, embed, and host changelog updates. You are responsible for reviewing generated content before publishing it.
Accounts and Access
You must provide accurate account information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may only connect repositories and domains that you are authorized to use.
GitHub Permissions and Tokens
By connecting GitHub, you authorize us to access GitHub on your behalf for repository listing, validation, pull request analysis, PR counts, and scheduled changelog generation. We store GitHub OAuth tokens encrypted in a server-only location and use them only to provide the service. You can revoke GitHub access from your GitHub account settings.
AI-Generated Content
Changelogs may be generated with OpenAI using GitHub PR metadata. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your audience. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, approving, and publishing changelog content.
Billing and Trials
Paid plans, trials, subscription changes, and cancellations are handled through Stripe. Prices and plan limits are shown in the product or pricing page. Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly agreed by us.
Acceptable Use
- Do not use the service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive activity.
- Do not attempt to access repositories, accounts, tokens, or data you do not own or control.
- Do not interfere with, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or attack the service.
- Do not publish content that infringes others' rights or violates applicable law.
Your Content
You retain ownership of your repositories, pull request metadata, branding, domains, and changelog content. You grant us permission to process and host that content as needed to operate Auto Changelog.
Availability and Changes
We aim to keep Changelog Generator reliable, but the service may be interrupted, changed, limited, or discontinued. Features may depend on third-party services such as GitHub, OpenAI, Stripe, Firebase, and Vercel.
Disclaimers
Changelog Generator is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Changelog Generator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create security risk, misuse the service, or fail to pay required fees. You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion by contacting us.
